HTML Lists can be classified into two Categories:

  1. Ordered List
  2. Un-Ordered List

Un-Ordered List

To create an un-ordered list, you need to use <ul> tag. Then after to add every item to the list you need to use <li> tag. Check out the code given below.

You can see we have bullets but not numbers. Thus this is an un-ordered list.

Ordered List

To create an ordered list, all you have to do is just replace <ul> tags by <ol> tags.

What is a Blog and How to create one?

There are many people who don’t know what is a blog and how to create one. So i am writing this short and precise tutorial which will help you to start your blog in minutes.

This tutorial will cover following parts :

1. What is a Blog?
2. What are the advantages of Blogging?
3. How to create a Blog?

What is a Blog?

A Blog can be defined as a Notebook which is updated by the author on a regular basis with data about a particular or variety of topics. While Blogging means adding new content to a Blog or simply writing a new post on the Blog.

This Notebook is accessible to everyone around the world via Internet. So whatever you are going to write in this Notebook is not just limited to the people around you but will be read by anyone around the world.

So in simple terms, A blog is a notebook where you write about your desired topic on a regular basis. And people who like your content will keep visiting your blog for new updated content. These are the audience of your blog.

What are the advantages of Blogging?

I don’t know how other bloggers out there define the advantages of blogging. But for me Blogging is important because, Blogging helps us to earn three basic things:

  1. Knowledge
  2. Respect
  3. Money

Blogging helps us to learn something new every second. It will boost your computer and internet skills to a whole new level. I have learned HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc just by Blogging. I haven’t joined classes for any of these.

People around the world read your blog. You develop an audience over time. These audience not only visit your blog regularly but become your fan for what you write. This earns you a level of respect.

You can earn money from your Blog by placing advertisements. There are many bloggers out there who have made a career out of blogging. I am not suggesting you to make a career out of it but my point is whatever you write is not going to be wasted. It will help you earn money (provided your content is original).

If you don’t believe me, Check out this blog named Digital Inspiration. The author of that blog – Amit Agarwal is an Indian Blogger who writes amazing content and earns a lot from his Blog. I personally like his posts.

How to Create a Blog?

Creating a Blog is very easy. People are afraid to create a blog because they think its quite complicated task, but trust me its not. First of all you need a blogging platform. There are many platforms available over the internet. But majority of people including professionals are using either WordPress or Blogger. These two are the only beasts in Blogosphere.

WordPress can be a little complicated for a beginner as ‘compared to’ Blogger. If you want to go in detail then you can read my post which will help you to understand WordPress and Blogger.

Blogger vs WordPress

If you are total beginner then i would recommend you to use Blogger. To get started, visit http://www.blogger.com. Blogger is platform developed by Google.

How much does it cost? Absolutely Zero. All you have to do is register a Google Account. If you already have a Google account then you are ready to go.

You can follow the instructions given at Blogger to create your very first Blog. I would be writing another post in which i will explain this process in detail. Till then you can go on and experiment yourself and discover new things.
