Creating Picture Password in Windows 8

In Windows 8, you can either set a text password or a picture password. Picture password is one of the good features of Windows 8 and really a fun way to secure your computer. Instead of typing out your text password, you can set a picture password with three gestures. These gestures can be swipes, taps, or a circle. But remember that the direction of your gesture matters.

How to set the Picture Password?

  • Go in Settings by pressing Windows Key + I
  • Click on PC Settings
  • Select Users option
  • And you will get a screen as shown below.

  • Now click on Create Picture Password button which is just below Sign-in Options
  • And you will get a screen as shown below.

  • Go ahead and click on Choose Picture.
  • Then just browse your computer select a picture on which you want to set the picture password.
  • Once you are done just hit use this picture.
  • Now you have to make 3 gestures on the picture.
  • You can either swipe, make a circle, a line, or just a tap. But remember, direction matters.
  • Once you enter all three gestures, you will be asked to enter them again for confirmation.
  • And then you are done.
  • Your picture password is ready after this process.
